With only 22 days left until the New Year I’m sure you have found yourself with various emotions. Perhaps you are excited about what the New Year holds because you have accomplished all or the majority of what you set out to do this year.
Or maybe you find yourself slightly disappointed or even discouraged because things didn’t go as you had planned for 2014 and you find yourself praying that 2015 will be your year!
What if I told you I could provide you with an action plan to ensure that 2015 was one of the best years of your life if you followed it? Now I bet your smiling! The key to your success is being teachable and developing a plan.
I know you’re probably like, “that’s it?” Yes! That’s it! I’m sure you have heard of the saying, “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.” Implementing one simple change such as
a.) Identifying your goals and b.) Developing a strategic plan of action can make all the difference in your life!
Here are 3 key things you can do to develop an action plan:
- Identify what it is you desire to accomplish– Knowing what you want to do is a prerequisite to actually doing it. In order to identify an action plan you must first identify what your goals are as well as your “why” for desiring to accomplish them?
- Establish a time line in which you would like to reach specific goals– This key is two-fold: Number one, you must identify your goals specifically. For example: Instead of saying: “I want to lose weight,” you would say, “I want to lose twenty pounds within the next ninety days.” Number two, you must develop a realistic execution plan on how you intend to achieve those goals.
- Just Do It– Too often we spend entirely too much time talking the talk rather than walking the walk. It is past time to begin moving our feet as swiftly as we move our tongues. Many people waste a lot of time talking about what they are going to do rather than committing to actually doing it.Make a commitment in NOW to prepare for 2015 by talking less and doing MORE!
Don’t get too caught up in the process where you are stuck planning for months and months rather than carving out a few hours in one day identifying what you would like to do with your life. Doing so will enable you to spend the next couple of months executing the vision which in return will set you up to live the life of your dreams!
